At the Zoo

(Watching an ostrich)

Woman:  Look!  Look!  The ostrich is giving birth!

Me: *stare*

Woman: Look!  You can see the foot!  Or is that the beak?

Me: Don’t ostriches lay eggs?

Woman: *confused* What?

Me:  Ostriches are birds.  Birds don’t do live birth.

Woman:  *lightbulb*

Me:  And knowing is half the battle!
