Capoeira

I took part in my first capoeira class tonight.  Capoeria, if you don’t know, is more commonly known as Brazilian kickboxing, and is more of a dance than a martial art.  It stresses flexibility, strength, and balance.

I have none of the above.  My legs are so weak right now that I can barely stand.  I’ve got blisters all over my feet, and I’m going to be in some serious pain tomorrow.

Oh well, I’ll go back next week.

Back when I tried out the capoeira club it seemed like there wasn’t really very good leadership, so I ended up not bothering.

    Has it gotten better?

Oh yeah, the two guys who run it now know exactly what they’re doing and they’re very good. They run it like a class, not a club. Lot’s of organized drills and stuff. Very professional.
