New Apartment
I got a phone call today saying that my rental application was accepted. Come August, Devin and I will be moving into an 1,100 square foot, two story townhouse down on 3rd street in Lafayette. It’s a good location for me, as my workplace and gym are right down the street, and campus isn’t too far away. I especially like it because it’s across the river, far away from the noise and drunkenness of the campus.
As for the apartment itself, it’s not too flashy. Two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, central air and heating, washer and dryer included. It’s got a breakfast bar, a decent sized kitchen with a dishwasher (no pantry though, darn), and a couple of miscellaneous closets for storage. It’s also got a yard. Yards are nice, and I don’t have to mow. I plan on sticking a grill in the backyard (finally).
You know what’s the best part? It’s cheaper than my current 3 occupant, 860 square foot apartment. $100 per month cheaper, to be exact. True, I actually have to pay for electricity in the new apartment, but it’s still going to be cheaper than my current apartment. I’ll just have to remember to turn of lights and video game consoles when I’m not using them.

Oh how I wish I had central heating.
And a dishwasher.
And a dryer.
