3 1/2 months for a Nintendo DS
Last night as I was setting up for club, I noticed a janitor lady walking from room to room, pulling pop bottles out of the trash. Then I noticed that she was just taking the caps. All at once, the genius of that simple task hit me like a brick. There are thousands of students on this campus, and there are hundreds of pop machines. How many hundreds, or thousands of bottles with perfectly usable rewards codes get thrown away on a daily basis? I went up and made some conversation with her and found out that she’s already redeemed 4 Nintendo Wii games by going around and collecting caps.
Oh man, why didn’t I think of that.
So I found a bottle, took it home, and started a Coke rewards account. Each cap is worth 3 points, and you can turn in a maximum of 10 caps per day. Right now, they’re offering Nintendo DS units for 3,250 points. So hopefully, roughly 109 days from now, I’ll be able to order a DS.
Of course, I don’t really want a DS. I think a better use for it would be to make it a prize for a Guitar Hero tournament or some other DDR club related event. Wish me luck.
